2 - Kumamoto University

What a good surprise. The campus was really all we could dream about for our trip, with music all around the Bunke (languages and arts campus), and oh my, such good food at the campus  restaurant.

Kumamoto University is based on one of the oldest high school in Japan, created in the 19th century to make Japanese universities converge towards the occidental education fields. A lot of history there, if I have some time I will write more about it.

except maybe for the lack of air-conditioning in my lab. Well anyway, it's not like I have to work THAT hard, as you can see. The following picture is called 10:00 AM in Kumamoto , a.k.a. Fighting clichés on Japanese people.

1 - Kumamoto

Once arrived at Fukuoka International Airport, we bought a 2-hour bus ride to Kumamoto City. First sight of the Japanese landscape.

After meeting with gentle members of the University that came to help us get to our dormitory, we finally discovered our rooms (and our Japanese tutors and future friends, that I will introduce later).

Particularities of that homey flat :
- don't you dare brave the threshold with your shoes on. Unshoe, then walk freely around (not that there is much to walk on, though)
- no pidgins allowed.
- shower & tap : same pipe. When you want to wash your hands, be aware that there is a switch to check before.
- that's already something.

0 - Seoul Incheon Airport

The Big Day ... was already yesterday. We completed the first step in our air travel, and arrived on asian soil, wasting these pure lands with our brutal and dirty european hairy feet.

Quite a mess in the transit area, though everybody seemed used to it. We went to find seats to monopolize, with success.

It took us some time to realize that we were really in a foreign, very foreign country. Maybe the following video will help you feel that way too.

Watch out. There's more.

If you're still alive, here comes the fatal shot.

Okay, enough Korea, I was done with this. It was a pretty nice show , but I was just too tired to enjoy the rest of it. After some sleep, we would finally be arriving in Japanese territory.
